Wax Seals Classification

In this section you can find the list of seals in the collection with their rating

Seals Ref 251 to 500

Each seal stamp in the collection is evaluated according to five criteria reflecting both its artistic qualities and its historical interest.
Each criterion receives a score of
up to 3 points, for a maximum possible total of 15 points:

Criteria 1: Beauty of the handle - Aesthetic quality, material, and craftsmanship.

Criteria 2: Quality of the engraving - Beauty of the arms, finesse, clarity, and artistic execution.

Criteria 3: Importance of the family - Historical or social significance of the family to whom the seal belonged.

Criteria 4: Quality of available information - Quantity and reliability of information that can be found about the family.

Criteria 5: Rarity of the seal - How frequently similar seals are encountered.

The points obtained for these five criteria are added together to produce a total score of up to 15 points.

This score is then converted into a "Heart Rating", from 1 to 5 hearts.

The heart rating provides a simple visual summary of the overall interest of each seal, combining artistic quality, historical significance, documentation, and rarity.
